External louvres are advantageous both economically and environmentally

The last thing you want to have to install on a building are unsightly blinds and sunshades. While too much sunlight might be harmful both to fabrics, wall surfaces and art objects, not to mention human skin, a room which lets in no natural light tends to be dreary. The key is to install external louvres that are elegant and functional and effectively protect valuable objects and décor from sun damage. Incorporating brise soleil in your shading system makes for comprehensive protection and hence sustainability. What’s more, the ready availability of glass louvres from specialist suppliers means that your shades can be aesthetic as well as practical.

Putting incongruous additions on the exterior of a building can be controversial with neighbours, local councils and – if the building receives customers or clients – visitors. You need not worry about defacing extant architecture by erecting stylish louvres, however. They are an truly aesthetic choice, as well as having major environmental benefits. Providers supply louvres engineered to meet a broad range of requirements. As they can be made from glass, your shades can be silk-screened, tailor cut, etched, coloured or coated according to your needs. Neither do your louvres have to be stationary – they can also be installed in motorised, movable positions. Louvres are more than just an add-on. With a great breadth of design available, more and more architects are integrating louvres into buildings.

The question of the resilience of your shading system is worth considering. Extra resilient shading systems made from aluminium and stainless steel will withstand high winds and loads of snow. As a result of their lightweight frames, vibration is also eradicated. Whatever the façade of the building in question, whether commercial, public, old or new, a range of fixings and colour coatings can be chosen from in order to integrate shading systems with their immediate surrounds.

Most importantly, a good quality shading system will preserve the longevity of objects such as valuable works of art, save costs on air conditioning, reduce glare and increase privacy. First and foremost direct sunlight is prevented from entering a building. Significantly, direct sunlight is the chief cause of heat gain and as shading systems help keep things cool, you’ll cut down on your air conditioning bill. Moreover the environment will benefit, as ozone-depleting gases produced by air conditioning units will be correspondingly minimised.

To sum up, brise soleil enables natural ventilation to be a practical option without the loss of privacy or risk of light damage. external louvres are an successful protective measure, and reduce running costs. Glass louvres combine function with style. If you are environmentally conscious when it comes to architecture and light damage, turn to a comprehensive shading system solution.

Hospitality jobs in Singapore

Successfully securing a job can be a tricky process at the best of times. It requires patience, consistent enthusiasm, and for those without savings to rely on, a workable approach to careful budgeting. At times when unemployment is high, job seeking becomes even harder: amongst other things, competition for interviews grows fierce and company budget cuts see many employers implementing internships rather than paid opportunities. Unhappily, unemployment is high right now in the UK and while it has become normal to hear of people re-applying for their own jobs mid-career, young people – including recent graduates – are struggling to get on the career ladder at all. Not all is doom and gloom, however: the latter group might be exceptionally heartened to hear that their services are in required in Asia and more specifically in hotel jobs Dubai, hospitality jobs in singapore and hotel jobs Gulf. Even better, these opportunities are paid rather than exploitative.

Of course, it is not only the younger generation that will welcome news of employment possibilities on foreign soil; many middle-aged or mid-career individuals who missed out on the more recent vogue for gap year travel may well love the idea of working in the far East and of gaining awareness of a culture so different from the one they’ve grown acclimatized to. It might just be worth reflecting that hotel jobs Dubai, hospitality jobs Singapore and hotel jobs Gulf will probably hold more realistic promise for people without family or financial ties more or less requiring them to stick around in the UK. But, for all those in a position to turn purposefully to working abroad, the benefits may be endless whatever their age.

Among the more obvious upsides to moving to the East for employment one might cite breathtaking landscapes, lower living costs and tantalising cuisine. It would be short-sighted to think of hotel jobs Dubai as a holiday opportunity though; hotel jobs Gulf can be as demanding as they can be pleasurable. Likewise hospitality jobs in singapore, this being a country with which a strong work ethic is often associated. Altogether then, the best candidates for catering jobs in Asia will have experience of waitressing, catering, events and hospitality. They should also enjoy challenges, adapt quickly to unfamiliar customs and not be too prone to homesickness. This last recommendation will probably be easy to comply with as the internet allows us to maintain contact with our loved ones through video calls, social media and emails.

Powerpoint Presentations

Companies and individuals use powerpoint presentations for a variety of purposes, one of the most common being sales presentations and other pitches. But one of the common denominators to the great range of slide shows given is the comparative mediocrity of their Powerpoint design. It is, sadly, all too normal to sit through a set of slides that brings little or nothing (or, in the worst cases, even less) to a talk which may itself be tedious enough as it is.

One of Powerpoint’s greatest strengths is also its chief weakness. If it was difficult to use then we would think about it differently. When we need software designing, an interactive website creating – even copy written, often – we employ a professional to do it. But Powerpoint design is different. Like written copy, it is something that untrained and inexperienced people can do. Sometimes, they will do it well. Unfortunately, though, in the majority of cases the results will be amateurish. When they are deployed in the context of a key or high-stakes sales presentation, the effect is predictably disastrous: they simply do not work.

Sales pitches need to engage their audiences. They need to convince and to wow. People need to come away from them impressed, but not just by showy graphics. They need to have a clear idea of the product or service you are promoting, and of why it can do the job better than any of the competition. The more simply and clearly you can communicate this, the better.

This is why there are companies out there dedicated to creating effective Powerpoint slide shows – as well as the spoken presentations they should complement. And it is complement, rather than duplicate or, in the worst cases, being a redundant extra. The Powerpoint and spoken word should work together, rather than one propping the other up. You can communicate detail on a slide that you cannot via a verbal presentation; equally, there are things that you cannot represent well on a slide.

Really convincing powerpoint presentations are hard to create. Powerpoint design is difficult to do really well, though anyone can do it badly. If your sales presentations are lacking in that ‘wow’ factor, that will soon show up in your bottom line. On the other hand, if you employ the right consultants or pay for the training to enable you to do it yourself, you should quickly find you realise a return on investment for your time and money.

Brise Soleil and Glass Louvres – for a better building and happier staff

In its simplest form the brise soleil is hardly more than a textured wall, and yet in some of its better-known incarnations this architectural device is stunning and detailed in its execution. The Milwaukee Art Museum is world-famous for its folding, automatic wing-style brise soleil. However, in other instances they just take the form of a concrete surface – horizontal or vertical – with spaces in. The concept is that these will let through some but not all of the sunlight that hits them. The exact amount will rely on a number of factors, including the climate, latitude, direction the building is facing and the time of day and year. Variations on this theme are glass louvres and other forms of external louvres. Although they may seem very different, the same principles are used, and for the same ends.

Effectively, the purpose of all these things is to limit the amount of sunlight coming through them at key points, whilst still making the most of it at other times. Take a large, modern office block, for example, which may have a broad south-facing window. In the winter this will be a asset to the building (so long as it is well insulated) since it will let in large amounts of sunlight – thereby cutting down on artificial lighting and heating and their associated expenses. Passive, natural heat and light are usually more comfortable than central heating and electric lights. However, in the summer such a large window would present a significant problem. Without good shading, the amount of heat and light it lets in would make the office space hotter than was comfortable (or, in some jurisdictions, legal). The purpose of the brise soleil and external louvres are to vary the incoming sunlight at different times of the day and year. Low-angle morning/evening and winter light is encouraged; hotter, high-angle midday and summer sun is not.

Some glass louvres are equipped with photovoltaic systems to generate power as well as limit unwanted light and heat. In other cases, external louvres are automated so that their angle can be adjusted for the exact circumstances and weather conditions; the one-size-fits-all approach is useful up to a point, but can often be improved. But even a basic brise soleil can make a huge difference, cutting down the need for heating and air conditioning, and therefore improving energy bills in the process.

School uniform supplier in London – the easy option

There’s been plenty in the headlines recently about the state of the high street. A combination of economic downturn and the inexorable rise of internet shopping has placed great pressure on traditional businesses, driving some into bankruptcy. Although we can complain about the loss of our high street stores, it’s an inevitable part of the internet’s legacy. Web stores have smaller overheads and are more convenient to use than regular shops, and we have flocked to them – with clear results. What this does mean is that you can now buy almost anything at a better price than on the high street, and at a time that suits you – including school clothes. Squeezed parents in particular will know how hard it can be to find the time to take their children out to buy their school uniforms, which often seem to need replacing at the worst possible moment. A London schoolwear supplier that offers online purchase and delivery is obviously going to have the edge over a traditional store that requires a visit in person, and charges more into the bargain.

Once you’ve found the right site you can buy clothes at any time – you are not restricted to normal opening hours with the internet – and they will be sent straight to your door. If you’ve really left it until the last minute, there is often a school delivery option, so even if you are shopping with only a few hours to spare you can still make sure your child gets the clothes they need. On the off-chance you receive something that doesn’t fit or need to send it back for some reason, you can again do this by post – and often for free (check the company’s returns policy). To decrease the risk of needing to do this, measure up carefully, and refer to existing clothes to get a good impression of what size you need to order.

In all, a London schoolwear supplier can make life a lot easier. In difficult times, good quality school clothes at low prices are always going to be attractive. Children go through school uniforms quickly, and saving money as well as time is a winner. You’ll often find they sell more than clothes and shoes, too, and you can pick up everything you’ll need in terms of stationary, bags, and paraphernalia for after-school clubs.

Invoice processing for a conscientious workforce

Businesses are like machines: they have mechanisms, input and output, and a function. Certain businesses might also be compared with domestic appliances: as long as they operate we are happy, looking to improve them only when we notice something wrong. But the forward-thinking entrepreneur will act before problems occur or the system begins to break down, because there is far more at stake when a business stops working than when your hoover gives up. A malfunctioning business cannot simply be disposed of and replaced. It is advisable then to increase the capabilities of an existing system before what works at an acceptable rate starts to fail. It always pays to be one step ahead of the game when you’re in business, and this includes looking after your document management, document processing and invoice processing.

The latter is especially important if your business outsources much of its work. A freelance team of employees will be loyal to a client that respects its worth but as soon as things look shaky they may seek employment elsewhere. This is because freelance work is unpredictable and the self-employed need a constant flow of tasks. One obvious way to keep your mobile employees happy consists of paying them in a timely manner. Once they have billed you, invoice processing should be quick and certainly within the time frame you promised. Allowing your freelancers to email their invoices and paying them by direct online transfer will save time, money and a whole host of complications.

Similar principles can be applied to the work that your team submits: rather than allowing a messy flow of print-outs and scribbled material to come in, you should consider the benefits of electronic document processing. Deadlines are often adhered to much more strictly when document management occurs on a multi-user network or online: everyone knows that their progress is easily traced and that things rarely get lost if they’ve been properly backed up.

Altogether, your business will work like a well-oiled machine if you pay attention to your staff, their payments and the overall workflow affecting the company’s profits. Efficient invoice processing solutions not only increase employee satisfaction, they also guard against fraud. Streamlined document processing can entail working together; relieving pressure on the individual faced with an otherwise insurmountable number of tasks. Indeed, document management should not be top-down in this day and age but rather networked, creative and conducive to business growth.

Bacs is best for streamlined payment solutions

When we hear mention of business we tend to think in very narrow terms of people working in tidy office set-ups, wearing tidy clothes and making a tidy profit. But we you think just a little longer about what the term business actually signifies we soon realise that the category is much wider than that and can include everything from law firms to travelling circuses and more. But while it’s important to think in terms of diversity, it is also important to think what all businesses have in common: namely a need to make and receive payments of some sort as part of a steady cash flow that will hopefully keep an activity afloat for as long as required. This may sound obvious but keeping on top of one’s accounts frequently proves difficult for even the simplest of enterprises. So that’s where bacs software comes in: allowing you to streamline your income and your outgoings, bacs is perfect for making regular automated payments to loyal customers. Originally standing for Bankers Automated Clearing Services, bacs payments can be used by anyone in need of a reliable service.

If you’ve decided against making automatic online payments your habitual mode of payment you need to know that the alternative is up to scratch. And there are lots of good reasons for finding such an alternative. One would be the inefficiency of logging into an online account every single time you need to process a payment: just imagine how long that would take to do as soon as you have a body of freelance employees on your books, all in need of payment at roughly the same time. Another reason to streamline your payments using bacs software could be rooted in a need to avoid human error.

Indeed, it’s crucial to keep in mind that as a business you have just as much responsibility towards your employees as you do towards your customers. So using bacs payments for your staff is a really good idea. In our current climate of recession we need to remember that a tardy payment can result in an employee being out of pocket. And this is something businesses absolutely need to prevent because your staff may see late or incorrect payment as disrespectful of their hard work. Bacs and bacs software can therefore reinforce your company’s strength from within. These great payment technologies can simultaneously afford you time and peace of mind enough to look outwards and upwards to ways of nurturing your business.

London kickboxing club for exercise that’s accessible and fun

Many of us have a persistent feeling in the back of our brains that we really ought to do more exercise. It was probably a new year’s resolution we made back in January actually. But now, months on, how have we done? A significant proportion of us will have failed to meet our target of taking up running or getting down to the gym more than once in a blue moon. We may feel cross with ourselves for our lack of commitment and self-discipline and guilty of putting social events, meals out and trips to the cinema first. But have any of us asked ourselves why we have undershot our aims? It may well be that we have been trying for too long to adapt to an activity that we will never actually enjoy. And when there are so many different sorts of exercise out there we should not blame ourselves for not adhering to our plans. Instead we should try to find a new sport that we can really take pleasure in. Kickboxing London is one alternative kind of exercise that has converted tons of former sport dodgers. London kickboxing classes offer an experience unlike that of our local gym; if you join London kickboxing club you’ll find yourself in a warm and friendly environment in which individuals encourage each other and thrive.

This may sound paradoxical: can we really benefit from an instance where we’re fighting our neighbour? The answer is a convincing yes. You will not be fighting in any ordinary sense, but rather sparring in a controlled and ultimately technical way. The technical element of the sport is part and parcel of the reason why kickboxing is so agreeable: in contrast with our former mindless pursuits of fitness on the treadmill, kickboxing actually gives participants an opportunity to learn. Indeed, it is one of the martial arts whose history and cultural provenance is as exciting as its practice.

Besides this, kickboxing allows you to burn off steam that might have built up during the course of your day or week spent in a stressful office. It is so much healthier to let go of this kind of aggression through kickboxing London that to bring your anxieties back home with you where they might affect your domestic life. Happily, because London kickboxing classes are scattered throughout the capital, it is more than likely that a short session could be fitted in on your way home. A London kickboxing club is never far from work or home.

Kickboxing London provides exercise opportunities for all

When you live in London it’s easy to miss out on exercise. All things considered it’s one of the simplest things to disregard: we must put work in prime position and after that would probably much rather engage in some sort of cultural, leisure or group activity before setting out for a run. The thing is that while exercise might be easy to skip, it is also one of the things our bodies need most. Now that we’re all living much longer we need to think about how we’ll prepare our flesh and bones for the really long haul ahead. So if running’s not your thing it’s time to get thinking of the alternatives. How about kickboxing? kickboxing London can be taken up in a kickboxing club, which can be found all over the capital – with some especially decent groups operating in Camden.

As one of the martial arts, kickboxing is a different type of exercise to that of which most have tried. First of all, we probably didn’t try to kickbox in school. So, unlike netball, football, hockey, athletics and rounders, kickboxing is a sport that comes untainted by so many bad souvenirs grounded in the P.E lessons we were subjected to as children and adolescents. It is also a high intensity sport. This means that you can get many of the health benefits of most forms of exercise in relatively little time: you will engage your muscles in a more intense form of activity through kickboxing for half an hour than you would if you went for a jog for the same amount of time. What’s more, there is little incentive to keep going if you’re used to jogging alone, but when you’re kickboxing you may well find yourself wishing you could carry on tackling partner after partner.

Indeed, kickboxing is a form of exercise that inhabits that infrequently tackled middle ground between traditional team sports and single pursuits. This makes it a social activity that carries with it none of the negative baggage of gang mentality or machismo. In fact kickboxing is a sport that both men and women are proud to take part in. It makes regular participants feel more confident in themselves and allows them to use up any aggressive reserves in an entirely productive fashion. Kickboxing can also make you feel (happy|positive|fulfilled}: like any exercise in this instance, people who frequent a kickboxing club are better adjusted than those who avoid the potential that kickboxing London has in store.

Make ICT infrastructure a top priority

The internet is everywhere. These days, it’s an infrastructure requirement as basic as electricity or phonelines. ICT infrastructure now needs to set its sights beyond elementary connectivity, however, and make sure that Next Generation Access is installed to ensure your area or business keeps up with the fast-paced technological world. Community broadband provides an all-encompassing solution that will keep you in the loop, speed up data transmission, and won’t cut you off.

Regardless of the type of organisation you’re in – whether business park, small community or rural estate – enhanced connectivity will bring in substantial benefits. These advantages are both economic and social. First and foremost, ICT services produce high profitability for business and science park operators. Revenue from these services is second only to rents when carefully implemented. Implementation advice can be sought from knowledgeable providers, who will be able to draw up a commercial strategy customised to your business needs. Business objectives, investment and upgrades will all be taken into account to formulate the technological infrastructure most applicable to your organisation. Efficient IT services make sure your business runs smoothly and improves your professionalism.

These benefits extend to rural estates, where isolated residents and local businesses collaborate together to construct a sustainable infrastructure across the area. This tried and tested strategy offers a useful second source of income, a sound return on investment and upgrades the current ICT services. Look to advisers with experience in this particular field of ICT services to access the best and most expedient package for your area. No rural location need be distant thanks to recent developments in community broadband. In remote rural areas, residents often feel that they cannot expect the level of connectivity enjoyed by those in urban areas, but this is not necessarily the case. Investing in internet access creates economic growth, and subsequently gives a boost to local industries. Being connected to the world not only helps business: local services such as health and education also benefit from the increase in easily available information.

Improving your ICT infrastructure should be made a priority for all, from far removed rural communities to multi-tenanted business properties. Socially and economically, the benefits are enormous. Investing in Next Generation Access broadband now will pay off in terms of competitive edge and future resilience to technological advances. For solutions of the highest technical quality, look for co-operative outsourcing of community broadband projects and keep in the game wherever you are. In these times it makes no sense not to invest in growing technologies. Don’t delay: get connected.
